The Arab Revolutions and the Renegade Tariq Ali

Maybe all ancient Marxists are destined to become renegades to revolution as they become living fossils. Tariq Ali, who just turned 70, not only denies that the Arab Spring was a series of revolutions but even says “we do not know” who used sarin gas on the civilians in Ghouta, Damascus.

Now I know what it means to have “been born at a time of wholesale apostasy” as Lenin wrote in his Kautsky diss.
